With over 30 years commercial property investment and development experience, Toby begun his working career in several different sectors (retail & hospitality), leading to him becoming the sole proprietor for First Property Finance, which was a part of First Corporate Finance Ltd. The entity specialised in selling commercial mortgages to the would-be owner-occupier of light industrial Hi-Tech office units.
With gained knowledge and experience, Toby moved his work base into First Property Funding Ltd, where he was Director and shareholder. The company served its client developers via a team of six commercial financial advisors, with instructions on 40 separate newly constructed schemes. They also advised on investment and development finance.
In 1992, Toby expanded on his skill sets and moved away from the finance broking and acted for a select group of wealthy individuals, advising them on property investment, lease management, acquisitions, and finance structures.
Having gained the experience and knowledge which allowed him to create Waterbridge Group Ltd, Toby was able to integrate his private clients; and establish many different private client property funds investing in the UK, with assets under management totalling circa £300 million. Waterbridge also carried out property development including planning and construction. The trading division of Waterbridge involved projects in hotels, serviced offices and self storage.
Broadening his business sector knowledge, Toby started to consult on and invest in several different entities within; self storage, high street gambling arcades, and leisure establishments.
Toby in conjunction with his son Max Hunter founded Maritime Capital, in 2014. Maritime Capital as well as investing its own money, collaborates in joint ventures with other family prop co’s and institutional funds. The company has a diverse range of investment sector skill sets but prefers to concentrate on retail acquisitions.
